CYBERPUNK 2077 VR Playthrough – Part 1 – Welcome to Night City (Quest 3)

It’s finally time to do a complete Cyberpunk 2077 VR playthrough because the VR mod has reached the point where it performs fantastically inside the headset AND captures smoothly for YouTube! I’ve also only ever played the very start of CD Project Red’s newest RPG adventure so MOST of this series will be brand new to me and I’ll be uploading it in chunks of around 1hr each week or every other week to this new Cyberpunk VR playthrough playlist. In the first episode of this Cyberpunk VR playthrough I’m setting off to carve out my own story in Night City, beginning with the Corpo life path I meet some key players in the story like Jackie, Meredith Stout, Dexter Deshawn, and I tackle my first proper mission to reclaim some stolen tech. All Cyberpunk 2077 VR gameplay is captured on an RTX 4090 and is running on a Quest 3 VR headset via a wired connection (to ensure the battery doesn’t run out whilst recording, each recording session is around 2+hrs in length edited down to around 1hr for YouTube).

  1. Did you tweak any settings or just use the defaults the mod recommended? I'm trying on Q3 with RTX 3070 and by default it is really blurry. Not cause of Q3 or VD, but because of the mod scaling the graphics so low to achieve framerate, I assume.

  2. for everyone who has problems with the settings. After a lot of trial and error, I found the best settings (for me). very little to no ghosting and almost consistently smooth. Play with an rtx4090. resolution over 3000. AER to 1/2. DLSS on quality (sharpness 0.50) all settings off or on low (except detail level and color precision on high). resolution is key. The higher the resolution, the better the image and less ghosting. The low settings aren't bad, because everything still looks great in VR. My buddy is having problems with DLSS (frequent crashes). he has DLAA (instead of DLSS) on and plays with AER 1/3 at 60 fps and is also happy. This could be an option for weaker cards.

  3. "…I don't know if there's a hunger or desire for it on my channel in particular…"

If it helps, I've watched your channel on and off for a bit (your coverage of Low Fi attracted me)… but I subbed when I saw this. soooo…

  4. Not that this would be expected for the series, but have you figured out how to capture in VR180 format to upload to youtube? I tried and haven't figured it out. I've seen others have figured it out but no good tutorials.

  5. It's almost amazing how much this game has changed from launch until now. I started playing properly after 2.0 and the game is nothing shy of mind blowing now! But regarding VR, I have to do a vicarious experience via this channel!
