Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion has a great cast, a great set up and a very pretty new space to explore, but it’s the improvements to the base game that make this expansion really interesting. CDPR are using it as an excuse to take a swing at some of Cyberpunk’s core elements, and so far, it’s working.

Finally, I'll be able to play the game on september and finish my playthrough.
I'm about 40 hours in and just did the whole Carnival Japanese-daughter-of-the-big-shot mission.
Really they need to fix that janky ass crafting system
Idris Elba is the Duke of Dog Town. He is A-Number-1.
Yeah i'm waaayy more interested in a perk system overhaul than more content.
I hope you dont need to buy the dlc to get all the cool feature reworks to tne game systems.
Isris Elba is a fan of action and scifi genre stuff, so you can always count on him to take it seriously. Even in stuff that's not so great, I've never seen him phone it in. This looks good.
Whatever plane the President of United States is in becomes automatically the Air Force One
Came for the hands-on, stayed for the hairdo. Amazing (the hair).
I know Cyberpunk has it's flaws, and it's still not quite the game I wanted, but it's still a great game and I'm so excited to be able to replay this game flaws and all to experiance what cdpr are adding to it.
Pleased for CP2077 fans. Played it recently on xbox but it didnt feel imeersive enough to keep me going to the end. The stories were decent and there were lots of them but it just felt a bit flat and I never felt like I was in a world thathad an effect on my charcter. One of the worst things about it was the never ending icons on the map-it started feeling like a job.
This was a game worth fixing, and I'm glad they chose to work on it. That said, I just can't get back into the game. I slogged through it as a buggy mess when it came out, and now when I return to it, the frustration of that time comes flooding back. It seems that the only way to have a good experience with a game anymore is to wait for the GotY version, and that's the only way I'm rolling, anymore.
"quick, get as many celebrities in this game as possible. Thatll make players come back,"
cyberpunk is one of my favorite games and i cant wait to sink my teeth into a new narrative in this unforgettable experience
Probably why they didnt want hype all the reworks because fans are gonna have high expectations again
Remember when streamers got to play Cyberpunk 2077 demo early and they praised it to seven sky? Judge with your wallet only when it's fucking actually out.
I would like to play Cyberpunk for the first time. Should I wait for the release of this DLC or should I get it now that it is on Sale?
All of this so far is great to hear. I can't wait for this purely just to get my friends to finally start playing Cyberpunk.
I want more choices with consequences
I bought Cyberpunk hoping it was SciFi GTA 5. Thus the things I was disappointed with most, was how empty the world felt. There's a lot of set dressing and tons of NPCs are walking around the streets, but you can't interact with 95% of it. There is barely any reason to go exploring and the sidequests are mostly "help the police in this encounter" or "do this handful of quests for the fixer of this area". There is no verticality, no planes, drones, yetpack; at most you can unlock a better jump… Sometimes the most exciting thing was stopping at a street corner to listen to "let me stay at your house" when it played in a radio nearby.
Yes it do look good… if you have the hardware to make it look good. Today I saw an updated spec-sheet for phantom liberty. Maybe that's why they didn't want to talk about AI-Changes and the other stuff. In the context I was given it sounded like those changes made the requirements go up… yikes.
Combat is fine, the skill tree really did need some love (looking forward to seeing what they did to it). The story was good, by far the part I enjoyed the most. I really hope they keep working on the game, it's by far the most interesting setting for an open-world rpg to me. Sadly the way it currently (before Phantom Liberty) plays I'd only recommend you get it when it's on sale for 30-ish Euros.
I hate how the gaming industry is trying to shove in these black characters for no reason
You just now learned about the dangers of hype? Been on this boat since Fable 3. Angry Joe knows my pain.
This is the studio that was able to somehow completely fuck up a functioning game with a single patch after 8 years. So i only expect more downgrades from this.
I have had Cyberpunk for a while now, but am still postponing playing it. I have not touched it.
I am hoping the improvements will carry over to the base game. Basically, that is my main care.
I will be extremely, extremely disappointed if this is not the case.
I'm actually very curious about the AI enemy changes now. Might be a good reason to replay the whole game for that improvement alone.
Dissapointed this take place in the middle of the story instead of after the ending.
Escape from New York vibes
Comment for the Skull Throne
Hopefully they fixed the police just popping in out of nowhere. Not to sound dramatic, but it reallllllly broke the immersion for me every time it happened.
Do guns still have levels?
Question for people that are more mod savvy than myself, will Phantom Liberty break the mods I'm using in the base Cyberpunk game? Is it likely the mods will work in the expansion? I use a couple of balancing mods that level all enemies to your level and make the game harder.
Selling an expansion before fixing the main game tells us all we need to now. They only care about hype and sales
I was really hoping to hear about activities on which we could spend our credits. Like maybe someone actually completed construction on a casino and then opened it for business. Perhaps a casino with mini-golf, Lazer Tag, and/or multiple go-kart tracks.
So it’s Escape From New York
I am seeing that "Finisher" prompt in the UI when you are using sword/blade. Is this new as well, or am I just a little late to the party?
People say Cyberpunk is very enjoyable already so you should play it but I've been patient until this day because they promised another big update a while ago.
With regard to them being coy, seems maybe they have learned their lesson on not overselling things and creating hype they can't deliver on.
2:11 He jumped into your path, definitely not your fault. Dw
The expansion is basically "Escape From New York (Night City)," I'm all for it.
I try Cyberpunk again every 6 months or so. Each time, I just wish I played Deus Ex instead. If they make the environments significantly more interactive and give the player more meaningful choices, it could be what I am looking for.
