5 Shows That Would Make Awesome Edgerunners Sequels! | Cyberpunk 2077

In this video I break down 5 ideas from the Cyberpunk fanbase for sequels and spinoffs to the popular Cyberpunk Edgerunners (plus a couple honourable mentions!). These span from basic character archetype concepts, to massively popular character’s from within the wider Cyberpunk lore.

I also explain a little bit of background info on each of the character’s and groups presented, in order to better explain why I believe they’d make an excellent basis for a new show.

Unfortunately nothing is confirmed regarding any Edgerunner’s sequels. Though after the success of the first, I remain hopeful that CDProjektRed and StudioTrigger will want to capitalise further on their recent success. After all, just look what it did to the Cyberpunk playerbase first time around!

  1. Wow! Just wow man! You really knocked this one out the park! I rarely agree this much with anything anyone says!
I concur. Your Saburo idea was amazing.
As far as the importance of Edgerunners influencing the game? Yes! I’m proof!
CP2077 came out, I was gonna check it out and it got all the negative press, so I didn’t. I didn’t watch Edgerunners either because I’m not an anime guy.
But, creators I sub to did! And I watched their videos and listened to their opinions, ending up giving the game a try! I really enjoy it and beat it for the first time this week actually!
    I digress.
Great content, great job! Keep up the good work!

  2. Making a Cyberpunk Anime outside the 2077 Game and the Sourcebook would be an Excellent choice to make either a Prequel or Sequel to take place whatever Time Period long as it's outside the Main Continuity, it would be more than a Cinematic Universe like Marvel and DC, it could become an Expanded Universe like the "Star Wars" Franchise.

Edit: Though much as I appreciate Studio Trigger that made Edgerunners, it would be Best to see another Cyberpunk Adaption that's made by a different Anime Studio that CDPR can contract, I would be Hype to see a Studio Madhouse Style Cyberpunk Anime (with Artwork and Animation that reassembles either "Death Note" or "Hellsing Ultimate").

  3. Really interesting video! I posted it to my still in development Cyberpunk news site to help give you some more exposure 🙂 I do agree making the anime an anthology is the best bet. It worked for American Horror Story really well and no reason with the stocks of lore and character why it can't work here too.

  4. Edgerunners doesn’t need a sequel. a bunch of different animes with different main characters set in the 2077 universe would be ideal or even a Orion anime that that takes place after the events of the game would be banger.

  5. I think you could go with a prequel from Edgerunners based on David's mom. How did she come to be in possession of that Military grade Sandevistan? How did she come to know Maine well enough to sell him said Cyberware? Who could be David's father so as to make him such a natural with Cyberware? It seems to me like she had her past as a Merc but retired after getting pregnant with David. Exploring her past could have some potential and it ties in with our beloved characters.

  6. Glad the show brought you back honestly i didn't realize the brilliance of the anime until after completely finishing the show and remembering the show when i hear the music in the game that is in the anime

  7. What comes next is they should fix the game. How is it two years later and i still experience the same glitches that were the main reason it was pulled from the PS store? I have a ps4 pro, and performance is supposed to be better than ps4, so i can only guess that the ps4 version is still on fire, a smoldering, unplayable mess. Is this their way of encouraging people to buy next gen, basically sabotaging last gen games. I do love Cyberpunks story and i have watched the anime, soo you know, "I want to stay at your house" but man do i wish they would give this game the treatment it deserves you know?

  8. My idea for a sequel series was to make it an anthology: This first one was the Street Kid, then you have a now character for a Nomad and finally a Corpo. Possibly with Lucy's storyline linking them together.
