1.7 BILLION DPS GUN – Cyberpunk 2077 Damage Glitch / Exploit

This is a glitch I found while playing Cyberpunk 2077. I don’t know to what extent it’s visual or if all the damage applied to the enemy is legit. Again, not a guide, just a showcase.

Depending on how this video does I may post more content like this. That being said I don’t know how I should feel about the performance of this video since I’ve never posted anything like this, or much at all really.

  1. Garetex On Reddit Says:

"The 32 bit underflow/overflow comes from the number you listed as the critical headshot at the end.

Since computer memory stores numbers in limited size fields, sometimes a mistake can occur when adding 1 to the maximum or subtracting 1 from the minimum. Imagine you had a number with a maximum of four decimal digits like 9999. If you add 1 then you will get 10,000 but because there is nowhere to store the ten-thousands place the number is displayed as 0000. This is called an [overflow.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integer_overflow

The same can happen by subtracting 1 from 0000 due to the way computers [deal with negative integers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two%27s_complement). This is called an underflow.

Since computer store numbers in binary instead of decimal the maximums are usually powers of two. So for a 32 bit signed integer (likely the data type and length that damage is stored in), the range is and −2,147,483,648 (−2^31) through 2,147,483,647 (2^31 − 1).

The headshot at the end is exactly the bottom limit. So what likely happened was you compounded so much damage that it overflowed back around to the minimum. I'm guessing the game ignores the negative sign when doing damage to enemies or else you would be healing the enemies with your shots instead. "

    What an absolute chad 😎
