TODAY, we take a look at the fan-favourite, Viktor Vektor, as well as his past. (This will contain Phantom Liberty Spoilers!) Viktor is something of a living legend in the world of Night City, with an underrated role in V’s story. My only complaint, honestly, is that there wasn’t more quests with him. His is a subtle tale over the course of 2077’s events, but he serves as one of the closest-to-home examples of Night City’s lack of mercy, even for those who choose the quiet life.
Thank you so much for watching! Huge thank you to YouTubers Infernix Gaming and Ch0om, for their Phantom Liberty ending footage and Doc from Edgerunners footage (respectively). Made making this video a thousand times easier.
Have a good one, guys! GOODBYYYYYEEEE!
*apologies for fuzzy greenscreen! I know what I screwed up with the keying, at least, so I’ll be able to improve this in the next video. LOL

You know in a way, Vik is the opposite of Dex. Dex is a poser through and through. He even treats his "quiet life" as nothing but an escape plan. Vik keeps it real, tells you how he sees it, even if he deludes himself by enabling runners with chrome. He ultimately treated his ripperdoc days as a retirement from his boxing days. But he's also very stagnant. He lives in the past, rewatching boxing matches, and keeping no small amount of trophies from his career. As a doc, he lives with regret for his enabling job and the only people that makes him come out of that hole are Misty and others.
Your videos are super thoughtful and lend to me having a better and more fun experience with the game. Thank you.
Something I always liked was when you’re at the end of your rope and about to make the big final decision, before going up to the roof with misty you can thank victor for everything. It’s a small detail but it’s one that really felt right, closure for a character I really thought was a good friend to V
I like to headcanon that V’s departure from Night City in the Aldecados ending inspires Vik and a few other friends to also leave the cesspool.
I don't know if this applies to Vic but one Ripper Doc has a line stating that Rippers like to stay organic cause a cyber arm might glitch and hurt a client plus he said something along the lines of cyberware just doesn't move/feel as accurate as a organic hand does. Something like the cyberware just can't replicate the intricate little details of feeling things like pressure which is absurdly important for a Surgeon.
Cyberware in 2077 isn't as advanced as we might think and has issues communicating well with the human nervous system and the brain, Rippers know this. Either go fully automated and let an AI operate or let a full human do it.
You got a good voice. Essay well written.
If you ever think about expanding. Narration like agrosqurriel and net narraotor might be an idea. I feel like the female narrator market is untapped.
I got your book before my train trip! just started it and I'm enjoying it so far
It's Cyberpunk Gearless Joe! Cool. Reminds me of Frank West too.
Could you do Placide?
What I never understood were the costs for V's first and crappy implants. Looking at the prices oh these both implants, they are far more less worth than 21k we owe him.
Vik is a guardian angel
I totally dig your comparison to Vic being like an actual doctor, and David's ripperdoc as someone experimenting. Totally cool! Thanks for the content!
Hey, you pointed out the fact Jackie beat his dad! Glad I could be of help by pointing out that fact in the Jackie video.
Old man Vik to me is the "the older i get the more i care" type
Vik reminds me of my uncle. A former Marine whose seen the worst of life and yet tried to be the best person he could be.
Also I wonder if Vik did throw that last fight, did he use that money to found the clinic?
Aaron's quest in Dogtown made me realise Vic must've seen some shit and had many a close shaves. Made me sad when he had to sell his shop to Zetatech.
The one time I threw my fight with Razor Hughes was the one time I felt absolutely scummy.
Honestly saying this, I am playing Cyberpunk RED the tabletop game and I kind of am starting to understand wanting a quiet life for that character. Given their background they could do whatever they want and I hope I get to give them that chance to do something, to start something. The character is a Tech Fixer (multi role) and honestly if at the end of the story they can disappear into their network be a legend behind the scenes unknown to others as they pump out tech from somewhere within the city we play in (Neo Miami) without hardly a soul knowing their face I would be happy. But I would also be happy seeing them set off with some nomads just to live a simpler life working on this or that building things to help not harm. Guess we will have to see how it goes.
Do you think Vik would refuse to chrome David had he gone to him like ripperdoc?
Vik is my favourite character, so much so every time I start a new play through I make it a point to pay him back as soon as possible.
Genuinely Vik and Misty are my two favorite characters in Cyberpunk. they give so much heart to the game and really show you a different side to all the darkness night city has to offer.
I just wish he was David’s ripper doc 💙😢
It would have been so easy to write a cynical character as the main character's ripperdoc for a cyberpunk story, but I am so happy that they decided to kind of surround V with all these people that almost lives contrary to big city living. Everyone feels like they are part of a smaller village and it contrasts very nicely with the harsh reality of the city itself.
Uhh
Great video as always, and I wanted to ask whether we will ever be blessed with your take on Reed from PL?
Imagine this game without Viktor in it. What a soulless thing it would have been.
Vic is the 🐐
The aldekados are prime for a breakdown, well at the very least Panam and Saul; though i find it best if told alongside nomad v's path.
I can’t point out a specific source but I remember Vik being an edgerunner in the past
VIC is the true choom
