Cyberpunk 2077’s bugs and glitches are grabbing all the headlines, but most reviews ignore the bigger problem: the underlying game isn’t that great anyway.

  1. I agree with what you’re saying. This game feels like it has half the features it should. Runs OKAY for me in 4k on PC, 45 -55fps depending on crowd size (2080ti, i7-7700k, & 32gbRam). Needs a lot of improvement, but I’ve settled into the way I like to play it and I’m enjoying myself.

6.5/10 – Certainly above average, has incredible moments, but ultimately could be much better.

  2. i might not agree with most of you opinion in this video, but everything else regarding the game mechanics i fully agree. beside the bugs and glitcthes (also base console graphics) they need to fix some of the game mechanics too. also that throwing knife thing is unbelievably stupid.

  3. I dont understand all this shade being thrown at 2077. I've put almost sixty hours into it and I've loved every bit and can't wait to put in sixty more. To hear you call it underwhelming in the first minute of your video confuses me because it doesn't mesh with my experience at all.

  4. 6 months ago they said, “Ready when it’s done” is something we live by even when we know we’ll take the heat for it. At the time we are writing these words, Cyberpunk 2077 is finished both content and gameplay-wise.
The quests, the cutscenes, the skills, and items; all the adventures Night City has to offer – it’s all there. We’d like to apologize for making you wait longer.

  5. Thanks for saying exactly what I'm thinking about the review scores! Most PC critic reviews of this game on Metacritic are laughable. It's nowhere near 10 even with all the bugs fixed. Even visually there's just this echo chamber of "it looks awesome!" of people just repeating what others have said. Have these people actually looked the games visuals critically with their own eyes or do they lack just any kind of eye for quality and keep repeating other peoples opinions? It's really mediocre compared to RDR2 for example, which came out 2 years ago! Like you said, sounds like critics are just saying what people want to hear rather than what they really think about the game, maybe because they don't want to be targeted by crazy fanboys.

  6. The game should of been delayed 1 more time and worked on. The problem was that the last delay drop the companly share price nearly 30 % (which can be company killer most of times) and they could not afford more delays. I think they spend most of their developing time on the visuals – building a city like this is not easy but they left a lot of things out. The warrent system is what I remember from the old GTA (Vice city and previus one). Driving – anything other then a bike is pretty much undrivable. I got multiple supper cars from the gangbangers I kill and those cars just go in circles by a light click. What you sead about the NPCs is true , I thout it weared that in a market i cant talk to any of the vendors…. There is a mission that askd me to talk to the Aldicaldos tribe (all of them) and 90 % of them (exept the scripted few) told me to fuck off or some wierd sentence that doesnt make scence. The crafting system is a nigtmare to use – with that multy click with no reset and counter.

Overall the game is not bad (its fun to play and the bugs are commical – most of the time I feel like an exibitionist because my dick keeps poping out infront my pants). They took a good lesson from Detroit Become human and there are multiple endings based on choises (you pretty much can change the ending 3 times in the final chapter).

  7. Chris, I have been watching your content for a few years. Thank you for all your hard work from your writing to editing. Every video was a joy to watch and listen to. I Hope you find some clarity in your absence and if you return well myself and those who follow you will welcome you back. We will certainly miss you like we miss Joseph Anderson. Much love from Australia and thanks again for your hard work Chris. Be safe and have a great Christmas.

  8. I don't understand these so called "gamers" that treat games and developers as their own kids. Blindly giving praise and defending it no matter what. It's beyond lame.
I only care about the product I buy because I'm going to use it, I don't give a flying fuck who created it.

  9. Complete bait and switch by CDPR. It would seem that they had to trash the original game either due to being overly ambitious or just plain incompetence and what we got was them trying to pick up the pieces. They could have said at some point, "Yo guys there were some issues with development and we had to do x y and z." Instead they completely rode the hype train up to the 11th hour and are only now trying to clean up their mess due to bad PR. CDPR definitely cashed in all their good will points on this one.

  10. This is probably the most honest no dickride bullshit review out there. Wish you the best of fortune in whatever you decide to do unfortunately being this brutally honest does not fair well on YouTube people like to be buttered up before they are fed shit they want to hear.

  11. I disagree that you can't be critical as a Youtube game critic. There are plenty of Youtuber's who are both critical but also popular and liked. For example Angry Joe, ACG and Worth a Buy all have given very hard criticism on the game and the CD Project Red as a developer. Most likely majority of people appreciate an honest review.

  12. I am a Witcher and CDPR fanboy but never ever would Cyberpunk deserve a rating higher than 8 or 7. Even if Cyberpunk would be the best RPG ever after the patches it does not change the fact that in it's current state the game is partially broken.

  13. Remember that if your favourite streamer is a character in a game, they are not a reliable source of opinion on it. Might as well have #sponsored tag on their channel. They are biased even if they genuinely think they are not.

  14. Wait till you realise NCPD (blue) events aren't actually dynamic events but actual quests you can clear. They do not respawn, the only reason they seem to respawn is because new NCPD quests become available to you based on your street cred level.

  15. I agree with most of the criticism, but I think some of it is a bit harsh. The limited, programmed actions of NPCs is clearly a flaw, but considering how vast and detailed the world of the game is, that is to be expected to some extent. I have a lot of issues with the "last gen console"- version of this game, but I also recognize that they've created the most expansive and detailed world I've seen in any game on console. Consoles have limitations, and in terms of cramming content into the game, within the refinements of what consoles can do, I think they've done a good job. Overall, It's like they took two steps forward, but one step back.

I really wish they'd put more time into polishing the game, ironing out the many bugs, improving the AI, and ideally, play testing it before releasing the game. There's no excuse for their failure to do any of this. Based on what I've read, my own conclusion is that they were hell bent on releasing the game this year, because the year, 2020 is relevant to the source material of Cyberpunk 2077. It's a detail that most the people who bought the game probably don't care about, but the many of the developers and people behind the game do. Of course, that is no excuse, but it explains why they chose to release the game in an unfinished state in the month of December 2020, as opposed to the date of march 2021, which they've pointed out as the time when they will have patched the most substantial issues on consoles.

  16. I write for Indie Retro News, and yes for the most part it is a thankless task… Youtubbers get high praise, spreads, handouts by fans and early products for a pat on the back. Good video Chris

  17. Hi! I mostly agree with everything you mentioned. The only thing is, for me, the story/ending was a bit lackluster too. For me the main story was pretty short. I was mostly concentrating on the side quests and when I ran out (even the gigs) I did one story quest to advance the time and I was pretty suprised that after a few ones it already notified that I'm at the point of no return.

Trying not to spoil anything but even the romance (male – straight) was kind of lifeless. While the romance quest itself was really immersive with quite lifelike interactions, I was pretty sad when it turned out that after I finished the quest line, V's love interest just acts like nothing happened and it is the same for the ending, just a "simple" friend conversation. It seemed like they didn't bother to develop different conversations if you are just a friend or love interest.

  19. The amount of content cut astonishes me. How are people still worshiping this?
Don't get me wrong I am having fun with the game but there is so much missing content. Here-
    1. No police chases (Wow really?). The cops just literally teleport around you if you commit a crime. Next gen? I don't think so.
    2. Street Cred is just a stat for accessing higher level gear and additional side gigs. Wasn't this system supposed to make our character more popular in the world and have mercenaries hunting or teaming up with us?
    3. NO CAR CUSTOMIZATION (Let that sink in).
    4. No post-intro character body customization. You can't even change your hair or tattoos.
    5. Gear is very generic. Basically, 5 tiers; common, uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary as the highest.Customization just includes a few mods and attatchments.
    6. We were told that NPCs were given simultaneously generated routines. Look up any video covering NPCs in cyberpunk and you will see the problem.
    7. The enemy AI is just plain stupid. GTA strippers have better coding.

  20. finally, someone who tells the real review!!! of the game! this is why I stop plying it's lifeless and dead … it's a fun game but that's it… I don't feel like in red dead or GTA 5 like all is alive and reacting

  21. Really disappointed you're getting on the hate band wagon. I don't know what you all expected to get after the gameplay demo that showed pretty much exactly what we got. Admittedly the game should have been developed for PC exclusively, but even then my three year old PC runs the game fine. This is Vampire and New Vegas all over again. Games full of "Shallow world NPCs," "Bad AI," and "Game breaking bugs" remember? Really? No one remembers how some of the most fondly remembered FPRPGs have all of this in common with Cyberpunk?

  22. Wait… cyberware is this superficial and limited option wise in a Cyberpunk game? Oo; In CYBERPUNK… based on the RPG known to have huge lists of cyberware in tons of sourcematerial.
And all that talk about changing appearance, customisation etc and… it's barely there?
…yeah definitely picking it up at the earliest in a year or more at a good discount.
    At the earliest.
    …maybe.

  23. Hey Chris, just a humble comment after watching your channel first time.
I have waited this game after playing witcher 3 (all dlc's too) on PC, after putting in 400 hrs on Geralt's journey. Somehow, I expected the same depth and quality and even more sophisticated game play from CDPR. Man, was I wrong!!!
After playing CP 2077 on PS4 pro(that I bought a year ago), WATCHING THE PC VERSION RUNNING and watching this video, I 100% agree with you on what you are saying about the game. A broken game at its launch day is more common than a refined, solid game in the market these days, which is a sad fact. We hardly accept a broken cell phone when we unbox it for the first time, but somehow a game passes with all the praises from the mindless reviewers…
Your review is yet the most honest and heartfelt insight I have ever seen with pin-point accuracy on the Cyberpunk 2077's real problems. The overall Design is a failure. I just wanted you to know that I realize your true perspective. Respect.

  24. I think this game really put the final nail on the coffin for me and gaming for the time being. I'm not saying I'll never play games again, but I don't think I'll really be a gamer like I have been since I was 4 years old. I think I am just really fatigued with the quality and direction the gaming industry has gone in the last 4 to 5 years. My kind of games that I like to play are single-player, RPG, sandbox worlds – the more interaction, customization, living, breathing world the better. Unfortunately it seems like that kind of game is dying out in being supplanted by multiplayer games.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rockstar's GTA IV and its DLCs, but both GTA V and RDR 2 were clearing intended to be impressive single-player games with content purposely cut out and saved only for the online version; the single-player game is the bait and the multiplayer hook that brings in the big bucks.

Fallout 3 by Bethesda was a childhood favorite of mine, I loved all the DLC for that, same with Skyrim, but Fallout 4 was a boring, unimpressive world with nothing interesting about it, and the world building made no sense.

Then CDPR with Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 was a game I wasn't sure I'd like, but I absolutely loved it. It remains today as my favorite game of all time. The last two years or so, I have barely paid any attention to gaming news, announcements for upcoming releases, etc. I found out about Cyberpunk2077 releasing only 3 days prior to its actual release. I knew CDPR was releasing it, so I bought it. The word "dumbfounded" couldn't fit any more appropriately. I am in a state of disbelief that CDPR released this game.

So yeah, I think it's time for me to give up gaming for 5 or 10 years. I think the gaming industry is sick, and my participation in it could make things worse.

  25. Silencers seem to work best on powerful revolvers and sniper rifles. I haven't progressed far into the game, but during the early chapters, revolver headshots will do the trick when you're sneaking around.
