Greetings, everyone.

Today we’re testing the new Patch 1.62 for Cyberpunk 2077, which adds the new Path Tracing “Overdrive Ray Tracing” Mode, among other changes, which you can find in the Patch Notes here: https://www.cyberpunk.net/en/news/47875/patch-1-62-ray-tracing-overdrive-mode

My previous video, for the CP 2077 1.61 Update, is here: https://youtu.be/8Z-_pH6u9k4
The UI / OSD for the Performance metrics is achieved with CapFrameX (https://www.capframex.com/), MSI Afterburner in the old 1.61 footage, and both need Rivatuner (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html).

26:24 – [1080p]Overdrive RT, Balanced DLSS, 30 FPS via RTSS, Daylight Driving to Misty’s Esoterica

The main big change in this new 1.62 update for CP 2077 is the addition of the Overdrive Ray Tracing mode, which uses Path Tracing instead of the old hybrid Ray Tracing solutions in the game, optionally of course, nothing has been removed.

They’ve also added support for Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA), which basically is DLSS at “native resolution”, without upscaling, and also support for Intel’s XeSS, also quite nice.

In this video I mostly focus on testing the new Overdrive Ray Tracing, if it’s usable at all on my RTX 3060 Ti, what settings, resolution and DLSS presets would work well along with it, the usual stuff.

And turns out…it’s usable, but don’t expect locked 60 FPS, more like 30 to 40 FPS, at 1080p : ) Which, in itself, is actually pretty amazing, all things considered.

The rest…well the video is decently sized, so you can find quite a bit of everything in there.

As usual, I hope this can be useful to any of you, and I’ll see you in the next one : )

  2. This game ran best with version 1.2. They've just ruined it for most gamers by making it into a 40 series showcase. 1.5 absolutely tanked performance and I have had so many bugs and glitches I never really experienced before. I have played the game to death anyway. Don't plan on buying Phantom Liberty because it will just run like crap too.

  3. Heh, I can't blame you for taking all those screenshots for the Clouds lady and scene in general. It is immediately striking when you walk in there. Also, she has one of the coolest designs in the game, and she's just a random NPC.
