Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is helping CDPR sell a TON of copies Cyberpunk: 2077. Yeah, remember that one? The game that kind of landed with a thud at launch and a bunch of gamers asked for their money back? Yeah, well they’re at 20 million copies sold now. Meanwhile, the CREATORS of the Cyberpunk RPG — R. Talsorian Games — seems to be getting lost in the shuffle.

I’m more of an expert on it than any so called journ, and I only know of the RPG cyberpunk 2077 and finding out more because of YouTube cyberpunk Red with Mike doing a play through.
Though I would call be on Mike claiming bubblegum crisis as an influence and not nourmancer by William Gibson.
The anime definitely has me wanting to give the game a go. I never had a chance to check out the tabletop but I do remember Shadowrun.
When you have to turn cyberpunk into D&D because D&D now so shite. With all the pandering and no bad characters on the account the left might think an irk is a black person again.
It's always been cool
If you want to learn the real history of Cyberpunk, go to Indigo gaming "Cyberpunk Documentary PART 1" right here on youtube. It's well worth it. I had already knew most of it but it's also a good refresher.
If you haven't played it yet you're missing out
Mike Pondsmith needs more love but im glad his universe is starting to get the attention it deserves with the anime and now the game. Talsorian games was also founded my Mike Pondsmith
The anime is surprisingly good. I loved it without playing the game
CP2077 was always cool. It's an absolute masterpiece and the only game I wanna play. All other games just feel dated in comparison to CP2077.
Heh, I picked up the game finally after the anime got popular. It is pretty dam good in its current state. Having a hellava time as a gunning death cyborg.
Bought it a month ago and absolutely love the crazy world they built with this game. The patches along with the show made it even better. Beat it once with an overpowered Netrunner build and currently running an all knife build second time around
gonna say this gain, CDPR should not be given a pass , they deliberately misled their fans, backers and shareholders with a fake gameplay and unfinished systems.
I mean if they want both a d&d mixed with cyberpunk then shadowrun would be up their alley
You know why? Adam Smasher, that's why!
To be fair, the modders kept this game alive the anime (which was great) gave it a 2nd chance
Its also because they have been updating the game since it released
Saving throw lol…. more like a fate point
I got it because of the anime lol so it works
The anime did great compare what that halo show did for the halo game
They better be begging and thanking profusely to studio trigger cause that anime save that game from obscurity otherwise it would have been just another gaming historical footnote
5:20 I actually didn't like Marvel before the MCU came out I was just too poor to buy the comics back then and I was only like 7 or 8. I just watched DC Batman movies because that's all I had growing up. Now that I'm older and have watched all the newer animated movies and have listened to comics online because I don't have space to store actual comics I've grown to like Teen titans a lot more than when I just watched she show. So from there I just started branching off from that as a starting point
Nice redemption story! Anime makes everything better! CDPR Learn from your mistake, better to wait next time! You guys lucked out Edge Runner was so good!
just watched it. was pretty good. Rip best waifu
The Loli must stay says Japan! Now look at all those sales!
Cyberpunk was not a tabletop! My publisher hold the GErman rights to it and I was working on it in the 90s!
Absolutely love the anime!! Studio trigger is amazing, and when the game originally came out I played through it. Really like the story and I was done. But the anime has caused me to want to go back and replay the game over again. And now I have this new storyline in my head when I'm playing and it really boosts the story for me!
People were expecting something bigger, better than W3 and it turned out to be to ambitous for CDPR. First they stripped away the RPG elements (though admittadly W3 already suffered from that) than despite numerous delays it came out a buggy mess. If they fixed most of it and people are willing to give it another go than good for them.
PS: If you want to play fantasy Cyberpunk thats what Shadowrun is for.
didnt cyberpunk get woke?
The anime actually caused a group of my friends to ask me to dm them the cyberpunk red tabletop this'll be our first time running it.
Nobody likes our game, quick, activate the Weebs!
The problem with the video game is the half-hour long narratives that you gotta press F through to get to real gameplay. Someone should be fired over that shit.
Kneon, you are expecting these people to actually know that there are more ttrpgs than D&D, or other card games other than Magic.
for some on that had it on PC (the master race) from day 1 the only real issues i had was updating my graphics card drivers. we also had a PS4 version of the game and yeah it looked like shit. when i saw the interview with one of the CDPR women and she said she had concens over "becky/rebecca aka the loli i was like "here we go" and then the studio said "the loli must stay" and that gave me mad respect for them. they know their audience and arent pandering to the new CDPR's BS politics
The game is not good it's because of dumb comsoomer,s who think the anime will be just like the game it's not also don't forget the company calld us gamers names like tansphobs if u don't like it
Whoa, good adaptions bring attention to your property?
W E I R D !
So something to think about is even though 20 million copies have sold as of yesterday it was on sale on Steam and Epic. 20 million is a BIG number, but it isn't making them as much as that might seem
It was called Shadowrun the RPG. I still got it somewhere. Happy days. Funny how what was cult when I was a kid is now hip now Im 50 years old and having a hip op. lol Street Samurai was a cool class. Thats why these things are being recycled. The post modern mindset see. Why bother doing anything new. Its all been done before? Its a crap mindset.
I have had the game since launch on PS4 and never turned on CDPR and kept it.
CDPR promised to fix their mistakes and they have kept to their promise thus far.
CDPR's 2077 is homophobic?
Judy she is gay
Kerry he is gay
V f/m can be gay.
I like Judy but she isn't into men so I had to make Female V with a long slong and large breasts.
last I checked that would make V a trans-woman so how in the world is CDPR homophobic or racist?
one of the straight romancable character is black.
though now that I think about it there are no white romancable characters….
I never played the game, but did watch edgerunners from start to finish. One of the best anime I have seen in the last decade, if not longer. The characters were all "real and alive", the animation is amazing, the voice acting is great. I can not wait for season two. The story was just top notch and pulled at all the emotional strings when needed. I went in neutral on it and didn't stop watching and went to work on three hours sleep. So worth it.
If the game had release this year in the state of the latest patch, I think the game would have done amazingly well. The story wou
D have been quite different for the game, and toss in the anime too… yeah… I think we’d have gotten all the DLC and so on that we were promised.
CDPR is involved with the anime and it shows since it wasn't ruined by woke trash.
that shows how a show made by people who care without an agenda makes a good show.
Cyberpunk 2077 anime puts garbage like the Witcher, she-hulk, he-ra, she-man, cowboy bebop, and rings of power to shame.
My Nomad Edgelord Legend isn't in this show so it's not canon! If you play through this game and do all the missions and read all the lore, it's a super deep absolutely massive experience. I did a playthrough at launch and one a couple months ago. Spending a month in night city does a good job or normalizing the strange, so the left should be applauding it.
That game is still shit! I go to sleep every time Keanu speaks in it. And holy shit he never shuts up once you get to the end of the game.
I was always rooting for Cyberpunk since I used to play the tabletop game. I admit I did kind of pick up the game because of Edgerunners. Only because I was discussing it with my friend and he told me they finally got the game into better shape. Otherwise I was content to just watch the anime.
I would not compare NoManSky return to C2077 game as CDPR promised so much more JUST BEFORE RELEASE.
The game finally feels kind of finished but there are tons of promised features that will never be implemented (complex story depending on player choice, big impact of your background, racing minigames, car customization… etc)
As for the anime, I would call it a successful marketing campaign.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners is like the second coming of Arcane.
