It depends on ones point of view, I picked up the game on the cheap after patch 1.2, I don't care about next gen as I play on a high end PC with an RTX 3080, it looks great, runs great, I had no major bugs except the odd graphical glitch which was rare in my first 200+ play through and the things CDPR had not fixed I fixed with mods before I even started to play as I knew the problems and missing features. To me I don't care about redemption as I loved my play through and will start another when the 1st expansion drops. If your stuck on console then 2022 could be huge. If they actually get the game to work anywhere near the PC version and patch 1.5 has some good fixes people might start to feel good about it, enjoy a full play though and think CDPR has turned it around. As I said it depends on your point of view and your experience with the game.
I hope we can see our char atleast during cut scenes if it's not what is the point in changing clothes or anyother accessories WHAT IS THE POINT IF WE CAN'T SEE OUR CHARACTER.
Should I buy a 13 dollar used copy at my local gamestop I mean I got 105 bucks from working with my dad
haven't touched the game since July I believe. I've 100% the game, done all 3 lifepaths on PC. Right now waiting all the patches to iron out the game fully and maybe ill come back to it when the first expansion comes out. love that feeling of coming back to an game after a long break and seeing new shit added.
I have very very low or no hopes that this game will actually be "fixed"
CDPR needs to do whatever they're going to do and give us modding tools.
No apologies at all! Take your time to do the things you want to do!
Can they just add TP View and move on ..
It would be nice if this happened though quite a few veteran devs have left.
With the rest of AAA floundering with equally poor launches (BF2042, GTA remasters) more dirty laundry and dev exodus, and even worse NFT plans or conversion of single player franchises into MMO cash grab trends there should be more recognizable examples of big games not merely indies that arent pulling 100% in the same direction.
Before release I stopped watching news about the game, because youtubers were overhipping it. There were so much bullshit like 4 hour long prologue.
When game came out I played it on a laptop that wasn't even supposed to run it. And I had a lot of fun. Loved story and characters.
Still expected more from character backgrounds and some secondary quests felt like there should be more to them, also hoped for longer main story. Pacifica region feels unfinished too.
And honestly for some reason I didn't run into a lot of bags, apart from the end of first act. For me it would be great if they expand on secondary stories content and some DLC to finish V's story.
And when I try to look for news about the game now, there just a ton of clickbaits and winning about "leaks" that aren't even true. Everything goes for those sweet views I guess.
Still, it is nice to find a level headed youtuber with realistic expectations.
At least i will occupy myself with dying light 2 waiting for cyberpunk updates. By the way i hope Kicinski will leave the studio and they will stop focusing on investors but will focus on those who buy and play the game.
Xbox SX playtrough in performance mode was about same as playing on PC
In all honesty, on half-decent pc hardware, the game ran fine and looked great even on release day. A couple of minor bugs aside, it was a great experience (unless you were, against all evidence, expecting GTA 2077).
Consoles deserve to get a big patch, which will most likely just make the game look like the PC version on PS5/XBSX.
Thanks
I'm started to read books again. Hopefully by the time I'm finished next gen upgrade will be ready.
Strongly doubt cyberpunk will have a redemption arc
Hope so, despite it's awful launch CP has been growing on me more and more lately.
Aside from the botched launch and technical issues – that have since been mostly ironed out – I don’t understand why people look upon this game so negatively .. I mean it’s literally everything u could’ve realistically expected from a video game and then some, u have the ability to create ur own characters look, u can do diff builds, diff life paths, and diff genders for each of ur play throughs, the main story is amazing, the side quests are absolutely fantastic, rhe gigs are probably the most innovative thing in open world games in years, u have dozens of assaults in progress/reported crimes to clear out, the world building is top notch, the city itself is awe inspiring, rhe side characters are perfect, the combat is fun and engaging and varying, u have multiple diff endings to play through and dozens of hours of content to complete, and all of that content – even the minor outpost type things – r done better and have more effort and story injected into them than any other open world game.. u have so many diff choices and dialogue options to make that each play through feels different from the last depending on how u play as V.. I mean I just don’t understand what this game needs to be “redeemed” from, and I guess I never will
Can this biggest dissapointment in video game history be redeemed? I certainly hope so.
I dont really care about next gen update… Then again i am on decent gaming PC… i just want fixes and quality of life improvements, more immersion, animations, content etc etc.
No amount of bugfixes and graphical changes will help the game in my eyes or make me want to replay it. The story was average, the missions were average, leveling system was god awful, vehicles looked nice but mechanically awful and gearing was atrocious.
I wouldn't get my hopes up, looking at CDPRs track record. We'll see…
I've loved the game since release.. I play on PC and only encountered a couple hiccups. Since then all I've wanted was some DLC. I really hope they do expand on the game and not just drop it.
All I know is that if CDPR wants to win love back—give us a hella nova DLC.
I haven’t played CP2077 and nothing I’ve seen since launch has made me want to. Maybe I’ll check it out in 3-5 years. *If CDPR can actually get their sh*t together.
I hard disagree with the "little things will be enough" opinion. It will be a population bump like it has now but also like now, it won't last and deflates quickly as people finish all there is to do in the game and quit because its one-dimensional, doesn't encourage multiple playthroughs because of no actual different story paths, and other things like non-respawning enemies that naturally limit gameplay time currently.
Little things are not nearly enough after all this time. CDPR needs to pull something so massive in just this 11.5 months left in this year that it makes No Man's Sky's resurgence and FFXIV's Realm Reborn remake from its 1.0 state pleased to call it an equal at the minimum. There's not even a maintainable gameplay loop right now to keep us playing compared to say, GTA's latest online powerhouse.
By your question, the answer is a blunt no. The hope is for next year probably and that's being optimistic.
This is it. The make or break moment for CDPR.
