There is a new rumored statement going around reddit that shows a possibly angry developer explaining the problems of Cyberpunk 2077 and how the game may actually be greatly updated over the next few months.

“CDPR hurt themselves to keep investors safe and sound. Now devs are hearing plans of a “No Man’s Sky” style comeback due to late June. The first two patches should come out mid-March, despite what’s been said by top execs. There will be major departures from the studio in the coming months. Dev morale is on an all time down and Sony is roasting our asses due to the gigantic volume of refund requests. There will be a meeting today with Sony execs to figure out a way to compensate players threatening with legal action. Sony Japan is specially furious.

More to come in the next couple weeks. Feels terrible, man.

There’s no finger pointing as of now. Word on memos comes from the top. The directors and senior devs are taking the flak for the team in what I’d call “an honourable move”. Just so you know, we still joke about a quest that got rewritten more than a dozen times, because a certain top dog wasn’t “feeling it”. It ended up being cut from the final product and should come on a later DLC next year.

There’s people that get hired for whatever reason and stay in the company due to being “trusted by the top dogs”. A good chunk of code is getting scrapped and rewritten from scratch. The intended game might be ready by June 2021.

That’s already done and ready since February. It didn’t get implemented because of a major UI bug that is still present in the retail copies. If you open your .dat files you’ll find a lot of scrapped content still in there.
If you want a refund, please ask for it. It positively impacts us as devs, because we’ve warned the leads a MILLION times about that kind of s***. Most cosmetic overhauls should be ready by the 2nd big update, hopefully.

The update that is due to June will sort out all of the bugs. The code for the PS4/Xbox One is getting scrapped and done separately. PS5’s code is an improvement on the PC due to the awesome dev kit Sony put together for this gen.

You’d be amazed by how much is already done. That “cut content so people finish the main quest” talk was all bulls***. Most apartments with “Closed (locked)” indications used to be lootable, we’ve scrapped 50,000+ lines of dialogue and I believe the June update will bring a whole lot of cut content back into the game.

Address the cut content as well. If they see that you guys are asking for s*** to be put back into the game, we might actually make the game we intended back in 2018. There used to be a huge underground part of the city that the public never got to see because it “looked ugly” to the execs. It was f***ing awesome and felt like the malkavian/nosferatu path on Vampire the Masquerade.

  1. Seriously, bucker off keep saying the game is completely broken, my game works fine on 3080, and it runs great.
Goddamn console peasants keeping trashing it because they can't play on a 8 years old trash machine in 2021.

  2. I'm loving this game on ps5, and I've been watching your prrvious reviews on this game which I can't say I totally agree. However, I agree about most of the things you said in this one. I've been doing parkour in the game for the last 12 hours and only managed to explore one area. There were so many things build sky high which we don't get access to, abandon rail station is only one of the things that I've found along the way.

This game had so much potential and I can't imagine what it would be like if they released it in full state, we would be able to get a flying vehicle and zoom around. All those buildings and rooms built mid air would be accessible.

Anyway, hope this game keeps improving but I honestly believe it would never be the same without the original developers

  3. This game will go down in history as one of the worst launches ever.

The player base was put into DEFCON 5 about the release of the game and then the release of the game turned out to be Gay Defcon 69.

  4. Article sounds legit. It makes a lot more sense why there are locked doors in the game, outside of night city is really empty and certain parts of the maps is just incomplete. like once you get past Pacifica towards (south west), there's nothing much to do there.

  5. I want this to be true so bad – well, I‘m actually 50/50 on that post.. Some stuff sounds fitting but we‘ve seen a lot in our years as gamers so it could be utter bs just as well..
Anyway even if it‘s fake it hopefully gives more people the push into the right direction to ask for refunds so that CDPR get‘s their sh** handed to them!

  6. “Getting an easier job at another studio” … 😐 … you don’t get an easier job by moving within the gaming industry … you get it easier by moving to another industry.

  7. Youre money hungry and that's it. Any one who doesn't see the blatant greed is insane

You're so full of it. You just want money. That's what this video is. You gave the game a NINE OUT OF TEN. you are just pandering and it's pathetic. Get. Laid. Get s real job. It's so pathetic.

  8. This is PURE greed. Grow up. You're not meant for youtube. This is tabloid garbage and you should be ashamed of yourself. Your greed is unreal.

    Stop.

  9. It should be as unacceptable to release a game in such a state as it would be releasing, say, a new sci-fi movie with a few scenes unfinished. Where there are still actors against a green screen and no special effects, yet, but with the promise from the film makers that they will release the finished version later.
However, I haven't had any game-breaking bugs in Cyberpunk, just a few crashes, (but it hasn't even done that since the last patch). The framerate slows down a bit at times, (Xbox One-X) but other than that I'm loving this game. It's no more buggy than most other games at launch for me, so far.

  10. i actually love Keanu in the game, ngl I always thought his acting was subpar in movies, but in game it works, for me at least.
But Thomas fucking Shelby as Johnny?! that would have been awesome asf. love Cillian Murph, sucks that we can only imagine what his take on the misunderstood terrorist would've been like.

  11. I've been playing Cyberpunk casually since its release on my PS5, few crashes aside here and there, I am having a great time. News of added features gives hope for a more robust second play through.

  12. They cut content due to censorship? They have dicks visually unblurred so obviously it's snowflake PC people there changing shit.

I hope those who still didn't get refunds get the new version for free

  13. The game isn’t even broken tho, basically no real bugs for me on series x after over 30 hours. I’d assume that ps5 and competent PCs would be the same, meaning that this game is nowhere near broken on the majority of platforms

  14. I've actually glitched into apartments and through locked doors into areas that have loot and possibly get underground into another locked door. I couldn't escape the building until I found an open window to jump out.

  15. in the french version johnny's voice is done by butcher from the boys, it fits really well. i was expecting the french oice actor of keanu but after a while i recognized butcher's voice and i thought: yeah, perfect choice!
i am 50+ hours in, trying to do as much side content before finishing the main quest. it's ok good but i wished there was more quality side content like witcher3; scenarized side quests with the detective or panam are good but it's not much compared to the scenarized side quest of witcher3 and the writting is ok generic, not amazing.

  16. I have a huge group of friends who have fought back against all the negativity a few I had to talk into trying the game now they are hooked and online playing everytime I get on to play my ps5. They have ps4 pros and the game runs almost flawlessly the textures are dumbed down same as the ps5 version I play if I had no other option I'd be fine with that. But I have 120hrs on pc rtx dlss on runs flawless absolutely beautiful at times this game is amazing patch 1.6 and it has so much of my attention im on the edge of my seat for this no man's sky turn about even though it's rumors. Definitely not a let down at all 1.6 patch such a blast playing this game.

  17. Cyberpunk is okay the bugs I can kinda ignore but it's so obvious there was a lot cut from the game. At least they are going to clean it up and add content back. It's still super shady of the higher ups though. I'm still salty that MGS5 was never fully finished it's still half the game it was ment to be. At least they have a chance to make it better.
