  1. When you're saying "optics", i think you're actually referring to the OS category. "Operating system." Your optics are the kiroshis, stuff that improves scanning ability, whereas OSs determine how you play with unique, gameplay changing abilities.

So yeah, sandevistans are good for what you wanna do, but you can totally be a combat netrunner too, it's much more fun since the 2.0 update overhauled the netrunning system. Each cyberdeck has its own set of builds you can make depending on which hacks and weapons you use.

Also, you're at the exact level (40) where you can now buy the strongest sandevistan in the game. It's called the Militech Apogee, and it slows time by 85%, which is absolutely crazy and super fun. What makes it unique is that you can turn it on and off at any time, so you can use it aggressively, then turn it off at the right moment to conserve charge. Also, kills with it extend its duration.

I also recommend going to every dogtown vendor you can find: each one has a stat boost upgrade for sale. Plus, every dogtown ripperdoc has unique iconic cyberware you can't find anywhere else. (They all have the same selection, but it's stuff that's not available in regular NC.)

In terms of actual optics, one of the best dogtown iconic cyberware you'll find is the kiroshi cockatrice optics, which increases crit chance by 30%-35%, depending on how much you upgrade it. Faster, deadlier blade attacks, basically.

Mainly though, if you get the apogee sandevistan, my other recommendation is to buy the Axolotl cyberware in the frontal cortex category. It gives all cyberware a big cooldown boost with every kill, meaning you get to use the apogee for longer with each kill, and can even go through whole fights using it, but killing so fast that it never runs out of charge. (or whatever sandevistan you choose, there's another solid high level one called Falcon that slows by 70% but lasts 4 seconds longer)

If you enjoy blades and open combat over stealth, the falcon and apogee with axolotl are the way to go.

If I'm using a sandevistan, axoltol is essential for me, since it's not fun having to wait for it to recharge slowly.

Apogee also slows time so much that it's actually viable as a stealth tool: you'll literally be moving so fast, you can dash through a room of enemies, right in front of their faces, while it's turned on, and they won't even know somebody was in the room.

  2. Edited this comment because i don't want to spoil you and actually don't know if you've gotten as far as I talked about.

All I'll say instead is, good move with Jacob and Taylor, negotiating the deal. They turn out to be real ones. Try to approach most of this DLC with that attitude of "maybe there's a way around killing as my first solution", and give the dialogue a chance like you did there. Phantom Liberty is loaded with moral dilemmas and tough judgement calls, and rewards players taking thoughtful risks. And, related to that, I'll also say: every single Phantom Liberty gig and side job is worth playing, and you'll see they're massively improved and much more detailed, with different outcomes and options, than the base game ones.

  3. Every CDPR game has one weakness and you discovered it massivly in this episode. As they are the devs of the witcher games everytime any kind of blade and malee weapon is so op that it make the game look ridiculous if you use them. In the witcher you had no choice but in CP2077 the gameplay is more fun using guns because with blades it's always a walk in the park no matter what enemy you're facing. With guns it is at least a bit of a challenge.
But the story of the dlc is a 11 out of 10 imo. 🙂
