  1. My conspiracy is that during the E3 2019 trailer, they made Vincent look completely different than what you can customize in the game. So they just picked Valerie for promotions going forward since her default in-game always looked the same since launch.

  2. Originally played Female V and while I did like the voice, I felt like the game was missing a bit of edge especially since I personally preferred more Cyberpunk works to have that edge. Now I’m playing as Male V and I feel myself gravitating more to Gavin’s performance because of the edge he carries to the character. Kinda makes it feel like I’m sort of playing the Punisher in Cyberpunk

  3. I preferred famale V's voice as I thought it fit her better than male V's fit him, the tone of his voice just sounded off to me. I would have preferred if it was more like Adam Jensen's voice in Deus Ex, I downloaded a mod that's supposed to change it to his but haven't used it yet.

  4. I like the female talking more relaxed only thing that i don´t like is it´s easy to miss the few romance options and you would think people can acc bi to day pam should be open for both sex same with julie would be fun for me beeing a guy playing a female O-o

  5. Female V feel much more like a person i connect to and i can enjoy the journey with, no offense but male V voice is hard to listen to most of the time, feel more like someone reading a Script rather than a genuine character, a real complex human being with multi layers and wide range – something Cherami Leigh presented masterfully

I like her sass and saracastic demeanor as much as i feel her emotinal breakdowns – She put more energy into every encounter, every Response, so it bring forth more lfe to V.

  6. Female V all the way for me personally. I think the actress knocked it out of the park and was honestly one of the best performances in any game I’ve ever played. Male V really fell flat for me in every way, coming off as an absolutely insufferable douchebag at every turn. That said, because of that I think Male V is perfect for a play through where you’re more of a sleaze-bag type, but it means suffering through the dramatic parts with him as well.

The recent culture war around the voices is very cringe though, bringing the chuds out the wood work and it’s as laughable as it is pathetic when they cry male erasure.

  7. I like both but since I played as FemV most the time I just prefer her, but in terms of having collections and stuff I love having both on covers, statues, posters etc… And no, I don't like Judy.

  8. I always play Male corpo V, so those moments where he's rude, to me, are leftovers of his corporate personality; which he's tried to shake since pairing with Jackie. But you know what they say "You can kick the rat outta the corp, but you can't kick the corp outta the rat."

  9. It's generic to say but I prefer male V it's easier for me to connect to and he's got some underrated funny moments, but what's great about cyberpunk is that both are canon to whoever is playing.
I remember watching this video one time about how cyberpunk helped with someone's gender/body dysphoria so that's pretty cool.
With Vincent johnny is like his best friend who fucks with him, with Valerie it's like johnny's the older asshole brother who still cares

  10. To me, V is an up and coming merc who's out of their dept. The event with Johnny is what escalate them into the legendary status. The male voice sounds way too over confident in my opinion. Almost like he's trying too hard to sound intimidating and I can't take him seriously. While the female voice makes her sound more nuanced and it makes more sense when people don't initially take her seriously. NPCs often seems to have a double take when realising she means business. I thought it fit the character better but that may be just me.

  11. never played male v because of the accent not matching a corpo and sounding too much like my own irl, the clips you showed saying the fem v was better actually make male v sound way better to me lol.
he's got sarcastic grit that sounds way more natural and familiar to me than the female voice for a california street kid

  12. I absolutely love them both and how they bring different things to all the missions in the game helping it be way more replayable. Saying that I’ve only ever finished the game 100% multiple times with female V

  13. I think my favourite performance of male V is during some of the endings for the expansion and some of the SOS gigs. Since he's generally tough and stoic and grittier, it's really sweet when he has a more caring tone towards the people he helps

  14. To defend River a bit, he was going through a time of a lot of stress and V was there with him for the entire ride, so no surprise that he would develop some sort of bond there. He could've used a quest or two more, but all in all I never really noticed his questline was so short until it was directly pointed out to me.

  15. Female voice I can’t stand. Not because female. It’s the tone register and timbre. Some reason I have a negative reaction to the speech. Lines delivered well enough. So talent isn’t lacking at all.

  16. I can't really hear most of the differences you seem to note for the voice acting between male and female V. Personally, while given the option I usually prefer to play as female characters, I thought both voice actors did a very good job. Though the game that comes first to mind when I think about different performances between male and female voice actors that also sparked a big controversy and that also sparked a big controversy is the Mass Effect series where I very much prefer Jennifer Hale's performance as Femshep. And not just there, I thought she did such a good job as one of the Luteces on Bioshock Infinite.

  17. honestly, Male V’s “weak” sensitive side is sooo gooood cause i feel emotions but sometimes struggle to properly communicate them! it was amazing to hear the voice actor progress as we did in the story. even if it wasn’t intentional it still was perfect to me.
